Nicholas Gabay (b. 1980) explores the space between the seen and unseen through his abstract flameworking and metal plating. Drawing from both contemporary and traditional techniques, Gabay’s work draws attention to the intrinsic properties of glass, metal, and a variety of other mediums—including found objects—to form a visual language. Each piece is a carefully crafted exploration of materiality and symbolism, forming an evolving sculptural library that spans over 25 years of artistic inquiry.
